I am a full-time managing editor for PLANSPONSOR, the premier information source for retirement plans/benefits in the U.S. I also enjoy doing freelancing as a contributing writer for Edtech Digest, and writing news for Scholastic Administrator magazine.
In 2006, I was hired as managing editor of District Administration magazine, a Professional Media Group publication focused on offering practical solutions to top-level K-12 public school administrators. I was initially brought in to manage the magazine and its Web site, and within one year I was named editor. Over the next five years, I changed the emphasis of the editorial content to focus on relevant progressive school leadership and innovative education reform.
A key to my success was the opportunity to spend six years as managing editor of ConsumerReports.org, the number-one paid Web site, where I oversaw the day-to-day operations—including planning and scheduling of daily, weekly, and monthly content postings—and maintenance of over 40,000 content pages. This experience honed my technology, marketing, and managerial skills.
